Tomorrow the run of off roads will be presented in Milan at the International Tourism Exchange - Only four weeks to the strat of the race (prologue on Friday 18th March) and Italian Baja is ready for the parade at the Bit tomorrow in Milan. Nothing less than International Tourism Exchange: wonderful! Pordenone Chamber of Commerce considers the off roads run one of the top events for its touristic and sport impact in our territory and so decided to insert the ran among the manifestations presented at the Fair of Milan. “It’s a great honour for us – says satisfied Mauro Tavella, patron of the race – but also a big responsibility . it means the we’ll be followed carefully and the Italian Baja will be considered not only a sport event but also a promotion to the territory and a resource for economic operators, particularly for hotels and restaurants. The competition involves a lot of people, more than one thousand for the organization and the crowd of fans who reach Pordenone to enjoy the spectacle. In a moment of general crisis, big events can create general enthusiasm”. And now few words to the protagonists of the race, pilots and bikers who will run on the stage of Tagliamento river. The staff of the club is preparing a track characterized by a selective sector of about 89,40 km, that will be repeated in the opposite direction in the two stages. On Saturday 20th March, the track will be from Zoppola to Dignano (two passages) and it will be called “Edi Orioli Sud”; on the following Sunday the sense of march will be from Dignano to Zoppola and it will be called “Edi Orioli Nord”. The great champion from Udine, who got four victories in the Dakar, gave us the opportunity of binding his name to the race that he won at its first edition (1993), driving a car and showing up his ability in driving any kind of off roads vehicles. 2010 Italian Baja presents itself as an exciting sport carousel interpreted by the best specialists of cross-country. Non difference this year between cars, bikes and quads: all the competitors shall complete the four passages timed on the selective sector. It must also be evidenced that a large paert of the track is along the river bed and it is utilized – on the working days – by the trucks: as we run the same truck, there will be non impact with zones of naturalistic respect.
